Staff is very friendly & like to joke around. Food is always hot & delicious. They are always working to improve their building, so bathrooms for men have been moved around a few times, but restaurant is clean. I definitely recommend this place. Our flavorful specialties are just some of the reasons why our restaurants are one of the best places to enjoy authentic, modern Mexican food. Restaurateur and businessman Lino “LJ” Joseph believes in great food, beautiful atmosphere, community and family. He has expressed all of these qualities through the way he established his five restaurants in Atlanta, GA and throughout the suburbs. Patrons can expect a real dining experience starting with signature dishes like the red snapper, lobster mac n cheese, LJ’s shrimp and grits and the turkey wings. A bonus to the customers is the live entertainment factor. While dark gray exterior paint and a fenced-in front patio aren’t the most welcoming sights as you pull into this Cascade restaurant, you’re rewarded with bright Marley art, faux plant walls, and chill vibes inside the Caribbean-leaning eatery. If you’re coming for dinner, the mood can be bouncy (live music on Fridays), so pair the crispy jerk chicken egg rolls with a Purple Haze (gin, St. Germain, lime, simple syrup, and tonic) and get in formation.
Is Beloved Dive Bar Lucy’s Reopening?
“It’s very important to choose the right business partners because you really have to be in agreement. It’s like a marriage,” exclaims LJ in a recent interview with a local media outlet. That’s exactly what Joseph did when he chose business partner Ace Carrington who is also responsible for the lively entertainment taking place weekly at the Lithonia location.

The food is amazing, and the aesthetics is great as well. I've been here twice but both times it been pretty empty but that might of been just because it was the weekday. The portion are pretty big, I always have leftovers. Even the dreaded yellow dust can’t stop us from enjoying our favorite springtime activity—checking out all the new restaurants popping up all over the city. Great tasting gumbos, po’boys, and other famous New Orleans foods from restaurants that give us the sudden urge to start a second line.

The first short to show Minnie's new design was the 1939 short Mickey's Surprise Party, which was one of the few theatrical shorts that focused more on Minnie than Mickey. Her first performance as Minnie was on two Disney Junior stop-motion shorts released in November 2019.[23][24][25] Robrock would continue voicing Minnie in other projects, including Mickey Mouse Mixed-Up Adventures and The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse. In 2018, Minnie was recognized for her contributions to animation with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Recently, she has also been featured as a fashion icon at such events as New York Fashion Week and the Fashion Awards in Los Angeles. She additionally serves as the figurehead of the Rock the Dots apparel and merchandise promotions—inspired by her affinity for polka dots.

So Mickey and Minnie play different Christmas cartoons to get him in the spirit. In the game, Minnie's cartoon essence was drained by Mizrabel and trapped within the Wasteland. Mickey journeyed to the realm to free it, as well as the essence of other Disney characters. Minnie, herself, appears in the prologue searching for Mickey after he has left, and during the epilogue where she mentions having a strange dream involving a witch and castle.

Should the player choose Minnie, she must traverse through Mickey's hometown to find and rescue Mickey, who has been kidnapped by Pete in his plot to usurp him as mayor. Should the player choose Mickey, the roles of the two would reverse, though the plot remains the same. In The Mickey Mouse Club, Minnie was seen in the animated opening of the series alongside Daisy in go-go boots.
Kingdom Hearts series
In 1995, Minnie played a more significant role as Mickey's co-star in Runaway Brain. In the short, a monstrous creature called Julius fell for her, forcing Mickey to come to her rescue. In the late 1930s and early 1940s, Minnie was redesigned alongside Mickey, given full eyes, a pear-shaped body as opposed her round body in previous shorts, and a cream face replacing the white tone previously used.

In her quest, she partners with Daisy and Clarabelle as Team Diamond Moon, eventually meeting Mickey's group. Around this time, Mickey became less of a rascally adventurer and more of an Everyman character. As this shift in personality became increasingly utilized by Walt Disney and the animators, Minnie's significance would start to diminish. Her last appearance in the original theatrical run of Disney animated shorts would be a brief cameo at the end of the 1952 short Pluto's Christmas Tree.
She also made brief appearances in the television special Mickey's 60th Birthday. Also in 1988, Minnie made a non-speaking appearance as a guest at the 60th Academy Awards ceremony, sitting alongside Donald and Daisy as Mickey announces the winner of Best Animated Short. The earliest known sketches of Mickey Mouse also include a single drawing of a female mouse. This character was developed as a love interest for Mickey and bore similar physical features as her partner; she was differentiated by her flapper skirt and feminine eyelashes. The character, eventually known as Minnie Mouse, was inspired by the rebellious flapper subculture that permeated the 1920's.
Mickey then reluctantly gives up, having done everything he can think of, and doubts that Donald will ever get into the Christmas spirit. Mickey heads to the roof of the building, where he talks to Jiminy Cricket about how he tried so hard to make Donald feel the Christmas spirit. Jiminy then tells him that the spirit of Christmas doesn't come from a party, it's about being together with the people you love and care about. Mickey agrees on his advice that Donald is his best friend and he's part of his family. Doing so, Mickey wishes that home or away with family and friends whenever they have the best yet decorations even a humblest little tree that everyone would have the Christmas spirit. He then receives a star from the sky and returns to the stage, offering Donald the opportunity to put it on the tree as it lacks one.
In 1999, Mickey Mouse Works premiered on television and gave Minnie her first starring role in standalone cartoons. She was often paired with Daisy Duck to form a comedic duo, marking the first collaboration between the two characters in animation. Outside of her solo shorts, Minnie regularly appeared as a foil to Mickey, and as the center of attention in cartoons involving Mortimer Mouse. After the success of Mickey Mouse Works, Minnie played a major role in the 2001 crossover sitcom House of Mouse as the titular club's manager. Minnie appears as a character in the comic series, as usual playing the role of Mickey's love interest. In the comics, she is a sorceress and princess of the kingdom of Dolmen whose people were turned to stone, leading her to seek a magical gemstone to restore them.
Minnie also appeared as a protagonist in the spin-off holiday specials Mickey and Minnie Wish Upon a Christmas and Mickey's Tale of Two Witches, as well as a revival of the Minnie's Bow-Toons shorts. Minnie made her theatrical return in the 2023 short film, Once Upon a Studio, in which she and Mickey emerge from the drawings within Walt Disney Animation Studios, and gather the Disney characters to take a group photo. The Paul Rudish incarnation of the character also starred in her own How NOT to Draw short, in which Minnie battles against an offscreen animator to prepare a housewarming party for Daisy and Clarabelle. She is the longtime girlfriend of Mickey Mouse, known for her sweet disposition, large head bows, and polka-dotted dresses. Inspired by flapper girls of the 1920s, Minnie made her public debut in the short Steamboat Willie on November 18, 1928.
Like Plane Crazy, however, The Gallopin' Gaucho initially failed to secure a wide release. She nevertheless went through several actresses whenever dialogue was needed. From 1941 to 1942, and on the radio program The Mickey Mouse Theater of the Air, she was voiced by Thelma Boardman. Following this, from 1942 up to 1952, Ruth Clifford provided the character's voice.
By the 1950s, she faded into obscurity altogether, and remained dormant for decades. Mickey Mouse has just finished up another successful night at the House of Mouse on Christmas Eve and is wishing the guests a safe journey home. However, Goofy points out that a huge snowstorm has trapped them in the House. Donald Duck, on the other hand, is being awfully miserly for a reason (not unlike his Uncle Scrooge) that is never given and would prefer not to take part in the festivities. However, Daisy, Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy get him to enjoy a cup of hot cocoa on stage next a fireplace set and comfy armchair. Minnie then finds some Christmas cartoons they haven't shown today and they decide to play them.
In the end, though, they realize their love is enough and they enjoy Christmas together. Minnie and Mickey as depicted in the Paul Rudish series of shorts (2013). Minnie as the proprietor of Minnie's Bow-tique in Minnie's Bow-Toons (2011), her first standalone television series. In 1998, Minnie appeared in the final segment of Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas, her first major role in a full-length feature film.

The following Alice Comedies series proved to be a success, counting a total of 57 shorts in its filmography and introducing the character of Peg Leg Pete, who would go on to be Mickey Mouse’s arch-nemesis. Like many of Mickey's classic shorts of the 1920s and 1930s, Minnie proves to be the driving force of some of Mickey's wacky adventures. She is the only character to star in her own shorts without even the presence or mention of Mickey. The song "Minnie's Yoo Hoo" serves as Minnie's theme throughout the series, and more specifically in her standalone episodes.
Western Animation /
They all enter the house to sing a carol and celebrate their special Christmas. In 1988, Minnie was given her first starring role in the television special, Totally Minnie. This also marked the debut of Russi Taylor, who would go on to voice Minnie for over three decades.

She was notably the central character of several specials, including Minnie's Bow-Tique, The Wizard of Dizz, Pop Star Minnie! The next film featuring the couple was The Gallopin' Gaucho on August 2, 1928, in which Minnie was employed as the barmaid and dancer of Cantina Argentina in the pampas of Argentina. She performs the tango for Mickey (the gaucho), but is soon kidnapped by Black Pete. Mickey obliges in saving the "damsel in distress" from the villain with the aid of his drunken ostrich. Minnie's design in The Gallopin' Gaucho more closely resembles her appearance in the title card, now sporting a bra and high-heeled shoes.
Minnie appears as a meet-and-greet character in the game near the entrance to Frontierland on Main Street USA and in front of her house in Mickey's Toontown. She and Daisy are given the task of decorating and organizing Toontown City Hall for the upcoming mayor election. One of the tasks that she gives to the player involves finding flowers for her decorations. Minnie also takes part in the Mickey's Soundsational Parade mini-game, dancing on Mickey's float. In the series finale of At Home With Olaf, a short clip of On Ice featuring Minnie and Mickey appears during a montage of heartwarming moments from Disney films playing in Olaf's song "I Am with You". In January 2020, Disney launched Positively Minnie, a web series centered on Minnie's daily life, using recycled art and animation from Paul Rudish's Mickey Mouse shorts.
The star then starts working its magic on the House, turning all the wreaths they have around the club gold and adding more golden wreaths throughout (even giving the Magic Mirror Spirit in the lobby a hat). They show their last cartoon for the night, Mickey's Christmas Carol, and soon afterward, everyone, even the villains, gathers on the stage to sing the closing song, "The Best Christmas of All". Mickey then wishes the viewers "Merry Christmas" and Tinker Bell ends the film. Minnie also appears in the children's television series, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Like other appearances, Minnie enjoys cooking, gardening, singing, and dancing.
In the following decades, Minnie would make occasional appearances on Walt Disney's television series and at the Disneyland theme park (and later Walt Disney World) as a mascot alongside Mickey. Minnie was revitalized with the premiere of the 1988 television special Totally Minnie, her first starring role. Since then, she has endured as one of Disney's most popular and significant characters. Typically partnered with her best friend, Daisy Duck, Minnie has headlined her own cartoons, such as in Mickey Mouse Works, Minnie's Bow-Toons, and Electric Holiday. Paul Rudish's series of shorts developed Minnie's comedic potential by highlighting her impulsivity and spunk while maintaining the character's endearing demeanor.
Kingdom Keepers
Various languages saying Merry Christmas appear on the television as Mickey announces one last cartoon before a carol. In the Kingdom Hearts series, Minnie is the queen of Disney Castle, a world of classic Disney characters with Mickey as its king. This is notably the only official continuity in which Mickey and Minnie are depicted as married rather than dating.
In "Beauty and the Shark", Mickey vies for Minnie's affections against a flirtatious shark during an evening date on a rowboat. In Mickey and Pluto's segment, Minnie hopes Mickey decides to pull off a simple Christmas party instead of overdoing it like he does every year. She takes the news to her friends including Scrooge McDuck who volunteers to buy a snow plow company to search the city for Pluto. Minnie, Scrooge, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Max, Huey, Dewey, and Louie spend the entire day searching in the snow plow.
She is often annoyed by Clarabelle's gossip, Daisy's wackiness, and Mickey's mischief. Minnie is often responsible for saving the club in times of crises using her cool and rational personality to calm things down. In this film, Princess Minnie wants nothing more than to find her true love in life, however, she must put this dream on hold after she escapes a murder plot by the Beagle Boys. She demands that her captain of the musketeers Pete, find her bodyguards. Unknowing to Minnie, Pete is the mastermind behind the murder plot and desires to rule France as king.
After a successful Christmas Eve show, Mickey wishes the guests a safe trip home. However, Goofy points out that they and the guests cannot leave the House of Mouse as a snowstorm has blocked up all the exits. The guests are worried, but Mickey decides to hold a free-of-charge Christmas party for them until the storm lets up.
Minnie made her debut alongside Mickey in the silent cartoon short Plane Crazy, which was screened to test audiences on May 15, 1928. The cartoon sees Minnie and Mickey take flight on the latter's makeshift aircraft. In during which, Mickey repeatedly tries to romance Minnie, but she refuses these advances. In Plane Crazy, Minnie's design is identical to her early sketches; she is depicted as a small, shirtless mouse with large coquettish eyes, pronounced eyelashes, a white mask, a ruffled skirt revealing her patched knickers, but no gloves or shoes. The opening title card for the cartoon depicts Minnie in greater detail; she wears a polka-dotted dress, high-heeled pumps, a bra across her chest, and a flower cap.

Her first spoken words, "Yoo-hoo!", have become a signature catchphrase synonymous with the character. Minnie appears in the Mickey Mouse-themed shorts, designed in a Chibi art style. Her first major role is in the short "Bad Breath", which sees Mickey trying to share a kiss with her under the mistletoe. She later has a starring role in the short "Gingerbread Brat", in which she and Daisy accidentally create a sentient gingerbread man who refuses to be eaten as part of their holiday snacks.
Upset that everything he tried did not lift Donald's Christmas spirit, Mickey heads to the roof, where he tells Jiminy Cricket that all he wanted was for his friend to be happy and enjoy Christmas; Jiminy advises him to wish upon a star. Mickey returns to Donald, whom he offers the honor of putting the star on the tree. The star magically begins redecorating the club, turning the wreaths golden and giving the Magic Mirror a Santa hat, while turning Sorcerer Yen Sid's sorcerer's hat into a Santa hat and turning Jafar's staff into a candy cane.
Minnie is given a starring role in several shorts, being the only other character aside from Mickey with this distinction. Minnie was redesigned for the cartoons by animator Paul Rudish; she retains her classic appearance by donning a polka-dotted skirt and flower hat, albeit with a red color motif as opposed to blue. After all this, everyone, including villains like Jafar, is happy that everyone is enjoying Christmas. However, Donald still refuses to change his mood, promptly souring the crowd's mood.
Unfortunately, Minnie is correct and the club is taken over by the Disney Villains. During their reign, Minnie threatens the leader Jafar to leave the club and change it back to normal, but this backfires when Captain Hook throws her out. In House of Mouse, Minnie is in charge of planning the show and the club's bookkeeper. Her outfit, black and white undershirt with a skirt and with boots and a purple bow on her ear.

In 1996, the Sexually Violent Predator Act was enacted, which provides for the commitment of certain violent sex offenders to a state mental hospital following the completion of their prison sentences. The Sexually Violent Predator Act requires that several criteria be met before a sex offender may be committed to the Department of State Hospitals for sex offender treatment for an indeterminate term. First, the offender must have been convicted of a violent felony sex offense. Third, the offender must likely commit further sexually violent predatory crimes. Since the law was passed, more than 100 men statewide have been committed to Atascadero State Hospital as mental sex offenders after it was determined that they would continue being sexually violent if released. After serving 11 years in prison, child molester Charlotte Mae Thrailkill could become the first California woman declared a sexually violent predator since a 1996 state law went into effect.

Defense attorney Harry Allen had sexual predator proceedings dropped this year against Thrailkill when a judge ruled that prosecutors had not filed the case in time. Two state-appointed mental health experts evaluated him and found he does not have a mental disorder that makes him likely to molest again. Within a month, parole was revoked because she had used alcohol.

The state began proceedings to commit her as a sex predator, and she did not oppose the effort. Ball, whom Thrailkill married after the arrests but divorced while in prison, pleaded no contest to several counts of lewd and lascivious conduct upon children and was sentenced to 24 years in prison. Despite such perceptions, researchers maintain that many boys may be left confused and angry, and if they are particularly young, they may be sexualized too early and have sexual problems later in life. When older children picked on her during elementary school, “she would then bully and beat smaller, defenseless children,” according to the May 2000 report. Thrailkill, the third of six children, was born with scoliosis and a deformity in her mouth that caused speech difficulties.

The long-awaited court proceedings for a man arrested in connection with the strangling death of a young boy seven years ago are finally underway. The boy died July 2, 2016, but it wasn't until last October that officials in Northport, Florida arrested Thrailkill - then extradited him to Mesa County to stand trial for both first and second-degree murder. Thrailkill appeared in court Jan. 4, where his defense lawyer asked the trial date be set in February to allow the new defense team to get to know the case.
When it finally opened at the end of 2018, we finally understood. The place serves Prohibition-era inspired cocktails and a menu that ranges from its Really Good Burger to an enormous 42 ounce Tomahawk Steak to share with the table. The S’mores mousse is the perfect way to end the experience.
Today, it’s more common for women to document their pain through memoir as opposed to fiction. Books like Sick and Ask Me About My Uterus insist on gender parity in medicine, while also situating women’s pain within a patriarchy that stifles and silences. Thrailkill encourages readers to try reading “ The Yellow Wallpaper” literally. Gilman, she writes, wanted the story to shock readers—specifically, her own doctor—into changing their treatment of women.

But literary scholar Jane F. Thrailkill warns against looking too hard for those meanings in the text. Instead, she focuses on Gilman’s own insistence that medical gender distinctions hurt female patients. Robert LaForge filed a petition Thursday to begin the process of incarcerating Thrailkill after a judge determined that based on psychologist evaluations she would be a threat to the community if released.

These women fancy themselves in love with the boy and don’t see the relationships as harmful, experts say. Women who commit sex offenses often fit into one of three categories. Chef Lewis Donald’s Sweet Lew’s BBQ is a restaurant focused on honoring North Carolina’s long history with barbeque. The 450-square foot smokehouse remains the only authentic smoker in the Charlotte area, where meats smoke for hours over hickory, pecan, and peach woods for the best flavor in town. 15-hour beef brisket, pork ribs, and the chopped pork sandwich are the stars of the show but the sides, including boiled peanuts, collards, red slaw, and baked beans, are worth a few extra calories. Combo platters are a solid bet and come with a main, two sides, and the unforgettable sweet onion hush puppies.
Ball introduced Thrailkill to sex with children, according to a state Mental Health Department report filed with Santa Rosa Superior Court. Most of this offender’s victims were girls, and most were not yet verbal. The woman would slap them until their teeth cut their mouths or start a nosebleed. The women tend to be immature and get an “ego boost” from the involvement, said Blum, the Nebraska psychologist, who counsels such offenders. “Without exception, all of our patients have had a substance abuse problem and also were partying with their victims,” he said. Life in Charlotte offers a variety of activities and amenities.
It was a new diagnosis at the time, and when physicians treated women with complaints for which they could find no obvious source, they turned to new diagnostic techniques and treatments. Charlotte Gilman wrote her famous short story in response to her own experience having her pain belittled and misunderstood by a male physician. Thrailkill initially faced more than 50 counts of felony child molesting. She pleaded no contest in 1988 to five counts of molestation in exchange for a 14-year prison sentence.
Wolfe says more than 50% of the 150 female offenders she has counseled molested their own children, primarily daughters. In the state’s regular prison system, only 103 of the 9,746 women behind bars--1.06%--are there for sex offenses, including statutory rape and lewd acts with children. That compares with about 12,500 men, 8% of the total male prison population. Only a handful of women, including Thrailkill, have ever been confined to mental institutions under state laws that allow for civil commitments of sex criminals after they have served their prison terms. Like other sex predators who have been committed, Thrailkill’s status must be reviewed by the state every two years. She may be recommitted only if two mental health experts determine her mental problems make her likely to molest again.
Paying homage to the mill workers who lived and worked in NoDa years ago, Haberdish focuses on Southern comfort food. You can even add crispy chicken skins to your mac and cheese—or dabble into the land of spice with Nashville hot chicken. She then worked in construction and had what court records described as two “normal” relationships with adult men. Steen, who is also a lawyer, described one man who was drugged and raped by two women and a man. The victim was later found wandering the streets with his clothes tied around his neck. When he awoke, he was gagged, blindfolded and tied to the bed.
